The head of state conducted a visit to speak to defense personnel in the Pokrovsk area on the start of the week. Intense Situation in the Region

Updated analysis from a Ukrainian project revealed that opposition armies had advanced deeper into the city and surrounding areas, though a large portion lacked clear dominance by any party. Invading troops continue to advance in the Pokrovsk direction and seem to be functioning with increasing comfort within Pokrovsk itself.

Research institutes commented that defense units had liberated a significant portion of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya area, on the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk operation.

Ukrainian Long-Range Assaults Inside Russia

Ukrainian long-range drones attacked an industrial plant approximately 1,300km inside Russia at the city. Local officials confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that resulted in structural damage to be compromised, adding that the reason for the blast was unconfirmed. The national defense command stated there was extensive harm to the plant.

Defense units reported hitting a Lukoil oil refinery at Kstovo in the Russian region east of Moscow. The extent of the damage was under evaluation. The local official acknowledged a strike by 20 drones near the refinery.

Moscow's Defense Policy Changes

Russian military reservists will now have to secure petroleum plants against unmanned assaults after the Russian leader approved legislation on the start of the week extending their entanglement in the conflict. The national leader also approved legislation allowing military conscription continuously whereas previously it was possible only during limited periods in fall and spring. Moscow legally bars conscripts from being assigned to fighting, but after their military service they enter Russia's reserves, putting them at risk of being assigned to combat zones.

Significant armed forces costs have also started to stress the federal treasury, with Moscow raising taxes to address growing shortfalls.

Ukrainian Leader's Calls for Allied Help

The Ukrainian president called on America to stay receptive to supplying Kyiv with far-reaching military equipment. Addressing a European Union summit from the Pokrovsk area, the Ukrainian president also called for more western sanctions on Russia – including on Russia's gas and nuclear sectors – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU before 2030.

Germany plans to increase defense support to the eastern European country by a substantial amount next year to about a significant sum, the finance ministry in the capital said on the weekday. This includes, among other things, cannons, aerial vehicles, military transports and the substitution of air defense units.
